How to Make Money on Vacation
Taking a family vacation can be stressful. But it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go. Ultimately, there are many benefits to going on vacation. Of course, the main reason being for those special memories and cute pictures. Aside from that there are perks of earning cash back. During our last family vacation I earned $500 dollars back. It’s really not that difficult. Especially, because now days many businesses offer special rewards. I will share with you three ways that I earned money on my vacation.
Credit Cards
First off, credit cards are great for traveling. There are extra protections on credit card verses a debit card. Now days there are so many ways to earn money back when you use them. Some credit cards are better then others. Do your research to find the best card for your needs. Certain credit cards give you a higher percentage back. Start with your bank and see what they offer on their credit card.
Many cards offer percentage back on gas and restaurants. Also, there are really good credit cards for traveling. Such as Chase Sapphire preferred card but it does have an annual fee. However, there are plenty of good options that don’t have an annual fee.
I prefer to only use a credit card for traveling because its too easy to get behind in payments. I don’t want to end up paying interest if I forget to pay it in full. Credit cards are only going to benefit you if you can pay off the balance each month. Those interest charges can really add up. Therefore, when I travel I make sure I have the money already saved up. I will not use the credit card if I don’t already have the money to pay for my purchases.
The Super App
Another way to earn money on vacation is the Life Super App. This app is awesome. The app continually increases its value because they are always adding more. There are discounts on restaurants, airplanes, hotels, and car rentals. Not only is it a way to save money when traveling, but also for day to day life. Things like, clothes, shoes, movie theaters and more. The app includes thousands of local and national businesses. Such as, Outback Steakhouse, Applebees, Coldstone, Delta Airlines, American Airlines, just to name a few.
The App has something called Thing or 2 Travel. It gives discounts on hotels and the option to use Travel Credits toward hotel room cost. Every month you will receive 30 Trip Credits. One trip credit equals one dollar. The Super App costs $30 dollars a month. But, since you get 30 Trip Credits every month it’s well worth it. Also, there is a 30 day money back guarantee.
I used the Super App for airplane tickets, shoes for lots of walking in Disney, and at restaurants. It was great to get money back on things I already needed for our family trip.

Service Your Way
This next way I made money on vacation is the Service Your Way program at Disney World. Therefore, it only applies if you are vacationing at Disney World. But, if you want to make a little extra money, it’s a great option.
Service Your Way is for Disney World Resort guests. If you are staying at a Disney Resort you can opt out of housekeeping. In exchange $10 a night is given for each night of stay minus the first night. An electronic gift card is sent to your email. If you want this service tell the cast member at time of check in.
This option is great if you don’t think the room will get too messy during your stay. Since I have little ones, the room got pretty messy. Needless to say, I won’t be using the Service Your Way program until my kids are a little older. If you want to read more about that click here. I talked to a Disney cast member and they said that the program is still available. At the current moment I’m not sure if it’s a $10 gift card. But, she did say that guests would receive a surprise. Disney World just opened and the program might go back to the $10 a night gift card once things get back to normal.
