Questions for First Timers to Disney World

questions for first timers to Disney World

I had a lot of questions before my first trip to Walt Disney World. I’m the type of person that likes to know as many details before traveling to a new place. Hopefully some of these answers will help, if you’re anything like me. Here are answers to questions for first timers to Disney World.

Where do I park my stroller when I go on a ride?

Walt Disney World has stroller parking at each theme park. Stroller parking is generally located near rides. Moreover, there are several locations scattered throughout each park. Also, don’t worry about finding them. Stroller parking is hard to miss. Just look for the many rows of strollers. However, some locations are smaller then others. But I never had a problem finding room to park my stroller.

Also, it’s important to know that cast members will move strollers around. Therefore, don’t freak out if you can’t find the stroller, look around for it, it shouldn’t be too far away.

How does the Disney Magical Express work?

Disney’s Magical Express is a free bus service that will take you from the airport to your resort. However, guests must stay at a Disney World resort. Unfortunately it will be ending in January 1, 2022. First make a reservation online or by calling (407) 939-1936. The information you will need is, flight information, resort name, and hotel reservation number.

Once you arrive at the Orlando airport, take the train to the main terminal. You will be on Level 3. Then, go to Terminal B. Disney’s Magical Express is on Level 1. Look for the signs and follow them to the check-in counter.

When you get to the check in counter the cast member will ask how many are in your group. Make sure to have your magic band on. The cast member will have you tap your magic band to check in. However, if you’re not using a magic band they can look up your information.

After being checked in, there are lines for the different resorts. Once, in line you could wait up to an hour. We waited about 30 minutes before the bus came. The cast member asked how many were in our group before we could board.

Where do I pick up my luggage?

Baggage Claim will be on Level 2.

What do I do with my luggage if I want to go the the parks on my departure day?

Take the luggage to Bell Services at your resort and they will hold it for you.

Will I be able to sit with my family on the rides?

As a family of 6 I wondered if we would be separated often on the rides and if we would sit next to strangers. One thing I noticed about Walt Disney World is how organized they are. It seemed like each ride had at least 3 or 4 cast members helping guests know where to go.

When you are at the front of the line the cast member will ask how many people are in your party. Then, they tell you what number to stand on. The numbers are in front of where you will load to get on the ride. Because we were a larger group with an even number we were usually assigned 2 different numbers.

We always sat next to each other. The only time our kids had to sit with a stranger was when I couldn’t take the younger kids on a ride. Those times Tim, Candon, and Zachary would go. Therefore, making it an odd number. That was the only time one would sit next to a stranger.

What do I do if I feel sick on my trip?

First Aid centers are located at each park. They have medications like ibuprofen. As well as, bandages. My son seemed hot during our trip so I went to the First Aid center. She checked his temperature and gave him ibuprofen as well as an extra syringe filled with another dose for later. And it was free.

However, if you need more help than what they can give you there is an off-site urgent care center. It’s called AdventHealth Centra Care Walk-in Urgent Care Center. Disney offers complimentary transportation. The number to call is, (407) 934-2273.

What if I lose my magic band?

First, if you just got off a ride, ask the cast member if they found one. If you can’t find it, head to City Hall if you’re in Magic Kingdom. City Hall is where lost and found is located. If they don’t have your magic band, they will give you another one, free of charge.

However, if you aren’t in Magic Kingdom, each theme park has a guest relations. This is where you can check for lost items. Guest relations is always near the entrance of each park.
