Best Value Resort – Disney World

Disney World has three different Resort categories, Value, Moderate, and Deluxe Resorts. The Value Resorts are the cheapest. I love that Disney World has a Resort option to make a Disney vacation more affordable. Moreover, Disney World has five Value Resorts to choose from. However, what is the best Value Resort? I asked Disney fans that question. Here are the results, counting down from number five, the least favorite.

5. Disney’s All-Star Music Resort

All-Stars Music Resort scored the lowest out of all the Value Resorts. This Resort features fun over sized music icons. Such as, a huge jukebox, guitar, and drums. Moreover, the pool is in the shape of a guitar. Also, this is the only Value Resort besides Art of Animation, that has family suites.

The family suite sleeps a party of 6. It includes 2 bathrooms and a separate bedroom. In addition, the room has a kitchenette. Out of all the resorts on Disney property, this is the cheapest room to sleep 6.

What are the downsides? The bus is the only transportation offered at the All-Star Music Resort. Resort guests have complained that wait times can be long at the bus stop. Moreover, it can get really crowded and there is only one bus stop. Also, compared to All-Star Sports and All-Stars Movies, more rooms are farther away. The layout for All-Star Music has all the rooms behind the main lobby. This means more guests will be farther away from the bus stop and the Intermission Food Court.

4. Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort

All-Stars Sports is the next one on the list. The Resort celebrates baseball, football, basketball, surfing, and tennis. There are ten different buildings. Moreover, each block of two building has it’s own sports theme. The themes are, Surf’s Up, Hoops Hotel, Center Court, Touchdown, and Homerun Hotel.

The Resort has two pools. The main pool is located in the Surf’s Up section and the smaller pool is in the Homerun Hotel area. Also, the Grand Slam Pool is in the shape of a baseball diamond. And the Surf’s Up Pool has huge surf boards decorated around the pool.

The bus is the only mode of transportation to the parks. This Resort has the same problems as the previous, long lines for the bus. Also, another negative is that a lot of sports teams stay here. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is located not too far from the All-Stars Value Resorts. Athletes from all over and of all ages come to compete. The All-Stars Sports Resort is where they stay. Therefore, it can get loud and crowded at the Resort.

3. Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

All-Star Movies celebrates Disney films. The Resort also has ten buildings all themed to different Disney movies. The themes are, 101 Dalmatians, Mighty Ducks, Fantasia, Love Bug, and Toy Story. In addition, the Resort’s layout is similar to All-Stars Sports. Buildings 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 are closest to Cinema Hall Lobby and the food court.

The pools are located in the Mighty Duck and Fantasia sections. Moreover, the Fantasia themed pool has a Sorcerer Mickey that sprays water. Also included is a kiddie pool and water play section. The Mighty Duck Pool is the smaller pool.

The one thing that sets the food court apart from the other Value Resorts is the secret menu. World Premiere Food Court is the All-Stars Movie food court. To order from the secret menu, head over to the Roxy counter and ask a cast member about the secret menu. A cast member will come out with a briefcase. Inside is an old fashioned viewfinder. The viewfinder is used to see the secret menu. It’s a fun experience. The food is yummy and the portions are big enough to share.

One of the complaints was that the rooms are a little bland. Also mentioned was long bus waits and the food court being crowded. Similar to the other All-Star Movies, the only transportation is the bus.

2. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Art of Animation is the newest Value Resort. It has 2 room types to choose from. The Little Mermaid rooms sleep 4 and the family suites sleep 6. The Resort is the most expensive out of all the Value Resorts.

However, it has extra perks that the other Value Resorts don’t. Such as, skyliner transportation, the largest resort pool on property, and better food. The food court is called Landscape of Flavors and it has the best food out of all the Value Resorts. The Resort has three pools, Big Blue Pool, Cozy Cone Pool, and Flippin’ Fins Pool. So that’s one more pool then the All-Stars Resorts.

The family suites have themed rooms, The Lion King, Cars, and Nemo. The rooms have two bathrooms, two bedrooms, and a kitchenette. Moreover, there’s plenty of space in the room to move around. This is the place to be if you want to feel like you are at Disney World. The decor in each room isn’t subtle or boring.

Along with the skyliner, bus is also part of the Resorts transportation options. The skyliner goes to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Another bonus, it has it’s own dedicated bus service to the theme parks. Therefore, no sharing bus routes, they won’t stop at any other Resort.

1. Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Best Value Resort is Disney’s Pop Century Resort. It’s located across from Art of Animation. The Resorts are connected by Generation Gap Bridge. Also, this is where the skyliner station is located. This Resort is more expensive than the All-Stars Resorts. However, it’s cheaper than Art of Animation. These rooms sleep a party of four and have a pull down bed for more space.

Pop Century is themed to the decades of 1950’s through the 1990’s. The Resort is decorated with over sized icons from those decades. Such as, a yo-yo, rubik’s cube, and rollerblades. Also, there are three pools, Hippy Dippy Pool, 1950’s Bowling Pool, and 1990’s Computer Pool.

The food court is called Everything Pop Shopping and Dining. Pop Century’s food court is considered to be better than the other All-Stars Resorts. Modes of transportation include bus and skyliner. Moreover, Pop Century doesn’t share bus service with Art of Animation. Therefore, you will get to the theme parks faster.

The rooms at Pop Century were refurbished in 2018. They have a nice clean look to them and the carpet was replaced with laminate flooring. Some really like the new look. However, others wish there was more Disney in the decor. Pop Century is a clear favorite out of the Value Resorts. Although many love Art of Animation, Pop Century wins for its better pricing.
