Pongu Pongu at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Pongu Pongu

Pongu Pongu is the quick service location at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It’s located in Pandora the World of Avatar. The menu has drinks and snacks. Moreover, it has a small breakfast menu. Although, the menu is small it has some great food. In this post I will go over what we thought of the food.

Breakfast

The breakfast menu includes, French Toast Sticks, Sausage Egg and Cheese Biscuit and the Pongu Lumpia. We didn’t try the french toast. However, we did try the other two items. The breakfast biscuit was good. Its exactly what you’d expect it to taste like. The biscuit was very buttery and had a slight crispness to it. It was yummy and definitely worth buying if you want a quick breakfast.

One of the items Pongu Pongu is most known for is the Pongu Lumpia. Some love it and some hate it. This is a pineapple cream cheese filled spring roll. Even if you don’t like pineapple, you might like this. It’s a must eat, at least once. Moreover, it’s not just served at breakfast but all day.

Also, it comes with not one but 2 spring rolls. Just about everyone in our family thought it was delicious. Zachary was the only one who didn’t like it. He’s our picky eater. Also, they really fill that spring roll. It had so much inside that the filling was coming out of the bottom.

Night Blossom

The other well know item on the menu is the Night Blossom. A very instagramable drink. It’s a non-alcoholic drink. The Night Blossom is a layered slushy with desert pear limeade and apple flavor. It’s topped with passion fruit boba balls. It was a very fun drink for the kids. They loved it. Candon especially enjoyed the boba balls. They give you quite a few. We had a bunch left over on the bottom when we finished. Candon had fun finishing them off.

The drink was good and surprisingly not too sweet. However, the boba balls add to the sweetness. During our trip we also tried the strawberry lemonade at Pecos Bill and that drink was very sweet. Too sweet. Therefore, it was nice that the Night Blossom wasn’t at that level of sweetness.

Final thoughts

Food is ordered at the window. We didn’t have to wait long for the food. Just as soon as we ordered it was out and ready to be eaten. I will warn you, the paper plate the Pongu Lumpia came on was very flimsy. Therefore, make sure you hold it on the bottom. I could see the food easily falling to the ground.

The food came out hot and quick. However, there didn’t seem to be any tables specifically for this location. You can find some tables outside at Satu’li Canteen. There might be a few seats just around the corner as well. We sat on some cement slabs that were next to it.

We enjoyed our breakfast here. The Pongu Lumpia is reasonably priced at just $3.79. Also, don’t forget it comes with 2 spring rolls at that price. Also, another snack offered here is the colossal pretzel. Although, we didn’t try it this time around. Pongu Pongu is a great location for a quick breakfast and for some fun snacks. It really adds to the already great food in Pandora with Satu’li Canteen next door.
