Grandma’s Homestead Restaurant

On our weekend trip to Cascade Idaho we ate breakfast at Grandma’s Homestead Restaurant. Cascade Idaho is a small town in the mountains. It’s less than 2 hours from Boise Idaho. In this post we will share our thoughts about the food and our experience.

Breakfast

Grandma’s Homestead Restaurant serves breakfast all day. I ordered the Pancake Sandwich. I love pancakes but I always have to get eggs and bacon with my pancakes. Therefore I ordered the pancake sandwich since it came with those. By the way, it wasn’t really a sandwich, which is what I was hoping. Also, it had the option between bacon, sausage, or ham. I asked if I could make them blueberry pancakes and that was no problem.

When my food came I was happy to see it had 2 pancakes on the plate since I was expecting one. The pancakes were thick, big and fluffy. They tasted great! The blueberry’s were real and fresh. Sometimes blueberry pancakes come with fake blueberries but not these. The eggs were cooked just as I like them. Also, the bacon was big and cooked perfectly.

Tim ordered the Meat Lovers Omelet. The omelet had three kinds of meat, ham, bacon, and sausage. It was a good sized omelet. It also came with toast and hash browns. The omelet was delicious and packed with yummy meat. Tim prefers his hash browns crispy. Therefore, these could have been crispier. It was a very good meal.

Service

The service was great. We were seated as soon as we entered the restaurant. Also, our server was very quick to come and take our order. She also brought us a carafe pitcher of ice water with cups. Therefore, we never had to worry about running out of water. The food didn’t take long to come after we ordered it.

Final Thoughts

Grandma’s Homestead Restaurant has delicious food and serves good sized portions at a good price. I would highly recommend eating here. The service was quick and friendly. It’s definitely worth the price.
