Via Napoli Restaurant – Great for Families

Via Napoli is an Italian restaurant located in the World Showcase in Epcot. The World Showcase has many restaurants to choose from.  I decided to eat at Via Napoli because my kids love pizza. After I reviewed the list of restaurants we would eat at I realized pizza was not on the list. The reviews weren’t great for the other restaurants that served pizza at Disney World. It seemed that Via Napoli was the best place to eat pizza.

It was a very rainy day in Epcot and we were happy to get out of the rain to eat some pizza! We waited for our table in a small crowded area. I was holding one sleepy child and Tim was holding the other one. We probably waited about 10 or 15 minutes but it felt longer because my arm was getting tired. Eventually, a seat became available and I was able to sit down. While we waited I enjoyed listening to the cast members call out the names for reservations in their Italian accents..  

Service

I thought the service at Via Napoli was good. Our server was very friendly. He was very welcoming. But, it was busy at the restaurant. As a result, we saw our server just a few times. After ordering I realized I wanted to order a side item and it took a little while before I saw our server again. Besides that our server was very inviting. He was one of the friendliest servers we had the entire trip.

The Food

We ordered the Mezzo Metro pepperoni pizza. It’s their biggest pizza, perfect for families. The server told us we could do half pepperoni and half of a different flavor, so we chose picante for the other half. After I ordered I noticed a picture on our table for the Garlic Focaccia Bread Basket that cost $4.55. I didn’t notice it on the menu when I ordered the pizza. For that price I definitely wanted to try it, since the other appetizers were $10 and up.

The pizza was delicious. The crust was flavorful and had a chewy texture. The Garlic Focaccia bread basket was also very good. I wish I had ordered another bread basket. This was the first meal at Disney World that all the kids loved. There were plenty of times when my kids didn’t finish their food and I felt like we wasted money. It can be disappointing to see so much uneaten food. But at Via Napoli every piece of food was eaten. I’m very happy that I choose Via Napoli. I almost passed it by because there are many options in the World Showcase.

How many people does the Mezzo Metro feed?

This was my biggest question when I made the reservation. I knew if we ordered the Mezzo Metro it was going to be a very budget friendly meal. Online it says that it feeds 3 to 4 people and we are a family of 6. Having smaller kids I thought it might be big enough. Turns out it was enough food for us. It was just the right portion size. Could I have eaten more? Probably, because it was really good pizza. I think a family of 4 with teenagers would be very satisfied with the Mezzo Metro.

Budget Friendly

Via Napoli was by far the best budget friendly table service meal we ate. It can be quite the shock to see $46 for a pizza, but this is Disney World. Plus when you consider that you are feeding your entire family for $46, that’s pretty good. Quick Service restaurants normally cost $12-$15 for one entrée. And generally, when you eat at a Table Service restaurant it’s even more. The total for our meal was very comparable to what we paid for our Quick Service meals.

Overall thoughts

The food was flavorful, very family friendly, and budget friendly. I’m extremely happy that I choose a place that the entire family enjoyed. I wish I could make pizza like that, it was so tasty. I can’t wait to go back. If you have pizza lovers in your family, Via Napoli is a must.
