I asked Disney fans what the worst restaurant is at Walt Disney World. Many fans responded. I mean it, I had over one thousand responses to this question. The votes were counted to find the top 10 most popular answers. I have to say, I was surprised by some of the responses. Here are the top 10 worst restaurants at Walt Disney World, according to the fans.

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant

Tony’s Town Square restaurant is located in the Magic Kingdom. The cuisine is Italian. Also, the restaurant is themed to Lady and the Tramp. The decor is subtle. You might not realize the theme right away. Tony’s seems to always be top of the list for worst restaurants in Walt Disney World.

The main reason it’s on the top 10 worst restaurant list, is the food. Many reviewers had a bad experience because the food wasn’t great. Although, I have heard the food quality has improved. Therefore, if you can’t find an available reservation, Tony’s Town Square normally has availability. If you want to risk it. On the positive side, their’s out door seating and it’s a great place to view parades.

Rainforest Cafe

Rainforest Cafe has 2 locations in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and in Disney Springs. It’s a table service restaurant. Kids will enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant. Rainforest Cafe has fish tanks with exotic fish and animal animatronics. However, the restaurant might be too loud for some. There are periodic thunderstorm and lightning sounds.

Many love the decor but hate the food. While some liked the theme, others didn’t like the noise from the thunderstorm. Others complained about how long they waited for food and poor service. Another complaint was that the food is pricey for subpar food.

Some of the benefits of eating here is the fun theme. Also, the menu has a great variety of options. In addition, breakfast is served here. Which is great because not all restaurants serve breakfast.

Hollywood and Vine

Hollywood and Vine is a buffet restaurant located in Hollywood Studios. This is a character meal with Minnie and her friends. Currently, the menu has been modified to be family style. Hollywood and Vine has a long history of bad food. However, the change to family style has improved the food quality.

One complaint was the lack of interaction with the characters. The majority just thought the food quality needed improvement. Also, one reviewer mentioned the restaurant was very crowded.

Coral Reef Restaurant

Coral Reef restaurant is located in Epcot in Future World. The cuisine is seafood. Coral Reef has floor to ceiling glass with views into the aquarium of the Seas with Nemo and friends.

This is another example of great atmosphere, poor food quality. Many have mentioned that the food is just not good. Another problem is, lack of options for guests that don’t like seafood. However, the kids menu has more non-seafood options than the adult menu. In addition, the food is more expensive than at other table service restaurants.

Be Our Guest Restaurant

Be Our Guest is located in Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom. This is a hard reservation to get because many guests want to see inside Beast’s castle. The menu is french style cuisine. Lunch and dinner is a prix fixe 3 course meal. Moreover, lunch use to be a counter service meal and dinner was table service. However, now both lunch and dinner are table service.

Be Our Guest is on the top 10 worst list because of the price. At the moment, the prix fixe meal costs $62 per Adult and $37 per kid. It’s a lot especially if the food doesn’t seem worth it. At least when lunch was counter service it was a much better deal. However, the food for lunch still needed to be improved. Another complaint is the noise. These are big rooms and it gets crowded, so it can get loud.

The Crystal Palace

The next one on the top 10 worst restaurants list is Crystal Palace. It’s a popular character meal with Winnie the Pooh and friends. This is the only place you can meet them. Normally, it’s a buffet but it has been modified as a family style meal. Breakfast is currently unavailable. This was a great way to get into the parks before opening.

The food is what you would expect from a buffet. Nothing superb just typical buffet food. Now that it’s a family style meal, some think the food has improved. The meal includes, biscuits, choice of salad, entree, and dessert.

Some reviews have said that it’s too loud and crowded. The food is just okay. Another guest stated that the buffet selection was too small. It’s also very pricey. However, since there are no characters right now, the price has dropped.

Chef Mickey’s

Chef Mickey’s is located in the Contemporary resort. This is a favorite for many families. It’s a buffet character meal where you meet Mickey and his friends. As with the other buffets, the menu is now family style. The menu is American cuisine. On the plus side, breakfast is still being served here unlike Crystal Palace and Be Our Guest.

Although, it’s a favorite for some, the food is just okay. What draws guests to Chef Mickey’s is the characters. Also, the restaurant can get very loud. Some guests have mentioned the lack of character experience. The restaurant is big and crowded. Therefore, you might not see the characters as often. Of course, the price is another negative. Buffets at Walt Disney World are expensive.

Sci Fi Dine-In Theater

Sci Fi Dine-In Theater is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The menu serves the typical Disney World hamburgers. The theme is an old fashioned drive-in movie theater. Guests sit inside classic cars to eat their food while watching 1950’s science fiction B movies.

If you enjoy hamburgers and shakes, you will enjoy this restaurant. The atmosphere is fun and should be experienced at least once. However, some of the negatives is how dark it is. It can be hard to see your food. Some of the movies might be too scary for kids. Also, all the seats face forward and some might find that awkward.

Tusker House Restaurant

Tusker House is located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It’s a buffet and character dining experience. The characters are Donald Duck and friends in safaris style clothes. The buffet includes African and American cuisine. However, it’s currently closed.

I was surprised to see this voted as one of the worst. I’ve seen many reviews that say Tusker House has very good food. However, one reason it’s on the worst list is because the food is unique. Some guests might not like the exotic seasonings. If you’re not an adventurous eater than this isn’t the place for you.

Others commented that it was crowded and too pricey. Someone mentioned that the food was too spicy. Additionally, a guest said, there wasn’t much more than mashed potatoes and mac and cheese for the picky eaters. However, if you like trying new things, this is a good place to eat.

Akershush Royal Banquet Hall

Akershush Royal Banquet Hall is in Epcot, located in the Norway pavilion. The restaurant is also temporarily closed. This is another character experience. Here you meet Cinderella, Ariel, and Belle to name a few. The other location to meet princesses is at Cinderella’s Royal Table. However, this is a much cheaper option to see the Disney Princesses. For this reason, Akershush is a good alternative.

Akershush is a buffet meal. There seems to be a lot of buffets that have made the top 10 worst restaurants list. The food is Scandinavian cuisine. A guest said that the food is not for picky eaters. Some might not like the Norwegian flavors. Another guests said they didn’t like the selection of food. Other’s said the food was just okay and that it can get loud and crowded.
