Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort in 2021
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort reopened in March 2021. It was closed for a year but now it’s open to guest. The resort is different since reopening. Such as, how the food court works and checking in. We stayed there at the end of April. I will share our experience staying at All-Star Movies Resort.
World Premiere Food Court
Right now the menu at World Premiere Food Court doesn’t have as many options as usual. However, there’s still plenty of options to choose from. The most important thing to know about eating here is, you have to use mobile order. It’s a simple process and I go over it on my YouTube video. At the beverage station they have water cups, that way you don’t have to ask a cast member for them when you pick up your food. Also, guests are allowed to fill their own cups. For awhile Disney was having cast members fill up guests drinks for them.
Bus Transportation
Unlike other resorts, Disney’s All-Star Movies only has the bus to get to the parks. The buses to the parks are located on the side of the resort lobby. This resort only has one bus stop. However, there are multiple buses outside waiting for guests. There are separate lines for each park and a sign that indicates what park it’s for. We had a great experience with transportation. We made it to the parks anywhere between 10 to 15 minutes. It was fast and efficient. When we left in the morning, there was always a bus waiting to take guests to the parks.
Rooms
The rooms at Disney’s All-Stars Movies Resort were refurbished shortly before the shutdowns. I loved this room. They replaced the carpet with laminate flooring which made it feel extra clean. Everything looked so nice and new. They have tons of shelves in the bathroom. They have little night stands in between each bed with plug ins and phone chargers. These rooms are smaller which is why it’s so important that they furnished it in a way to create more space. Such as, leaving a space under the bed to place luggage. The one negative is the room does not have a microwave. However, we never needed to use one so it didn’t bother us.
Online Check in
Disney resorts are encouraging guests to use online check in. However, if you can’t they will still help you at the front desk. Online check in can be done 60 days before your trip. It’s a great way to avoid lines and you can head straight to your room. We arrived on a Sunday at around 5 pm and there was no line to check in. However, I noticed on Wednesday at 9 pm that the check in desk had a very long line. So you never know how busy it will be when you arrive.
Arcade
This resort has an arcade in the main lobby. It’s currently closed. Some guests might miss playing at the arcade. If you’re one of them just know it might not be open during your stay.
Final Thoughts
I loved this resort, enjoyed the food, the transportation, and theme. Last time we stayed at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. I enjoyed this resort more. The rooms at Caribbean weren’t very clean and they still have carpet which adds to the dirty feel. Also, the resort is so spread out.
The nice thing about All-Star Movies is, even if you stay in one of the farthest sections, it doesn’t feel that far from the main lobby. We stayed in the Mighty Ducks section and I didn’t think the walk to the lobby was that bad. We ate at the food court a few times and I thought the food tasted good. That review will be next. Also, we had a great experience using Disney transportation. We never had to wait for a bus. We also left before parks officially opened so perhaps later in the day it was busier. From my experience I will stay here again.
