New Details Released About Genie+

New details released about Genie+ and how the new lightning lane will work. We now have a date for when Genie+ will start. Disney also mentioned what rides will be part of lightning lane service. Plus, which rides are part of the individual ride selection. In addition, other details were shared and I will be going over them.

Disney Genie will be released on October 19, 2021 at Walt Disney World. However, it will be released at Disneyland at a later date. The Disney Genie service will be available in the My Disney Experience app. The Disney Genie is the free service and includes features to help guests plan their day in the parks.

Disney Genie+ is the paid service and it will cost $15 a day per ticket. However, you don’t have to pay for Genie+ for every day of your trip and not everyone in your party has to get it. Lightning Lane is what comes with Genie+. Lightning Lane is the replacement for FastPass+ which was free to guests. This service will make waiting in line shorter. It will be using the same lanes that FastPass+ used. Lightning Lane includes over 40 attractions across the 4 parks. Also you can only book one attraction at a time starting at 7:00 am.

Along with shorter wait times for attractions, it also includes, Disney PhotoPass Lenses and Audio Tales. Disney PhotoPass Lenses are for your mobile phone. It will let you try some different augmented reality effects. For example, guests can take a picture infront of the Birthday Cake castle from the 25th Anniversary. Audio Tales lets you listen to fun facts and behind-the-scenes information during your trip.

Individual Lightning Lane Selections

8 attractions will not be included in the Disney Genie+ service. These rides are available to be purchased separately. The prices will vary depending on the ride. Also, it might change if it’s a weekday verses a weekend and what time of year your visiting. There are 2 attractions at each park. Guests can purchase up to 2 attractions a day. Also, you can’t purchase the same ride twice. To use the individual ride selection you pick an arrival window. Also, you can only select one ride at a time. Moreover, guests don’t have to purchase Disney Genie+ to pay for the individual lightning lane attractions.

Guests of a Disney Resort and other select hotels will be able to purchase it at 7:00 am on the day of their visit. Other guests will be able to make the purchase once the park opens. Here are the prices per ride. Just remember prices will vary depending on date. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will cost $9 – $11 per person. Expedition Everest will cost $7 per person and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance $15 per person. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will be $10 -$12 per person. Also, Disney has said that the price for individual ride selections will not go over $15.
