Third Street Inn – McCall Idaho

third street inn

The Third Street Inn is a hotel located in downtown McCall Idaho. The hotel is within walking distance to shops, restaurants and Payette Lake. The nearest park on the lake is Legacy Park. The park is about half a mile from the Third Street Inn.

The amenities included a pool, hot tub, complimentary breakfast, free parking, and free WiFi. I always prefer to stay at a hotel with free breakfast. It’s one less expense I have to worry about. The Hotel was clean and looked like it had been newly refurbished.

Room

We stayed in a room with two queen beds. The room had a fridge with a small freezer. Most importantly, the freezer did work. I placed some ice packs in the freezer and they were completely frozen the next day. In addition, there was a microwave and a small coffee maker. Also included was an iron, ironing board and a hair dryer.

The room looked nice and clean. The room had a capacity for 4 people. I called ahead to see if it was alright to stay in the room since we are a party of 6. I asked because I know certain hotels will not allow more than what the capacity says. However, they had no problem with it. Moreover, the room had enough space to have a child sleep on the floor and to set up a pack and play. The bathroom was a little small, but not a big issue. I had to shut the bathroom door to open the shower door. Also, it’s a walk in shower.

This will probably sound funny, but the water in the bathroom tasted really good. Also, when turned on the hot side the water gets hot fast. Like wise, when the faucet is turned on cold it comes out really cold. I enjoyed this because I like to drink ice cold water. Typically, I get ice from the ice machine to make hotel water drinkable. But not this time. The water was the best tasting I’ve ever had at a hotel.

Main Lobby

The Lobby has a desk with a computer for hotel guests to use. In addition, there is a TV, chairs and a table. At the front desk guests can enjoy come coffee. In the hall next to the front desk is the ice machine. The hotel is only two stories, so it’s in a central location. Also, there is a vending machine down the hall from the ice machine. The lobby was very clean as was the entire hotel. They keep it looking really nice.

Pool

The pool is indoors and across from the main lobby. In addition, there is a hot tub. On the hotel website it says the pool is heated but it was cold. Not that it’s a problem, especially since there is a hot tub if you get too cold. Perhaps it gets heated in the winter. What I really enjoyed was the fact that there was a cart full of clean folded towels. That was a nice addition since I’ve been to other hotels that don’t provide towels at the pool. There was also a restroom on the pool deck next to the hot tub.

breakfast at third street inn

Breakfast

Breakfast is served in a separate room next to the vending machine. During the day the door is closed so you might not notice it. However, there is a sign on the door that states when breakfast is served. The tables and counters were very clean and well stocked. The day we were there, the hot breakfast was eggs, sausage patties, and grilled potatoes. The hot breakfast was good, I especially liked the grilled potatoes. There was plenty of food to choose from. Such as, muffins, bagels, cinnamon rolls, bananas, oranges, yogurt, and a variety of cereal options. The drink options were, apple juice, orange juice, and milk. Complimentary breakfast at the Third Street Inn did not disappoint. I enjoyed my food and the kids had plenty to choose from. Which is always nice if you have picky eaters.

In Conclusion

I think this is a great place to stay. Also, Third Street Inn is affordable. The cost to stay here is lower than other hotels in the area. Moreover, it’s in a great location, so you can explore the town. We ate at Growler’s Pizza Grill, which is right next to the hotel. You can read more about that on our blog.
